New personal best - 43MPG+
Last month the SC got new plugs, NGK's. Since then, I've picked up about 3mpg per tank. Not sure if I can attribute it to the plugs or the warmer weather (or the fact that I've been doing a lot of EOC). That brings my lifetime mileage up to 40MPG! Not bad for a stock lil Saturn with an automatic. Now it's time for mods... :D

Probably a combination of all 3. Congrats!
What's on the list for mods? |
probably in order:
eoc warmer weather spark plugs they can all contribute. grats on the great average with an econo-auto. p.s. make sure that your auto trans can be towed (allowed to do eoc*) in neutral without drying out the trans gears and causing major tranny damage. |
next target for an automatic sc1 is
46.52mpg did it without eoc, but had a grill block, tires close to the wear bars, and a commute of about 35miles each way |
Thanks, guys! Flat towing isn't an issue, so EOC with the auto trans is fine. 46MPG is definitely attainable. I'm considering taking the scangauge out of DaGnoma and installing it in the SC. That by itself would probably get me there.
Now for mods... listed by cost, and therefore order of execution. ;) Air dam, since I have some leftover landscape edging lying around. Next will be a grille and fog light block, since I have some foam left over from the cap on DaGnoma. Warm air intake. Smooth wheel covers, because pizza pans are cheap. Rear skirts. Been planning this one for a while. With the shape of the rear quarters I think it'll look killer while picking up some mpg. Belly pan. |
