Not to rain on your accomplishment, but isn't 55 mph the minimum on the highway?

Were you perhaps on secondary roads?

It's kind of crazy how slow 55 mph feels after so many years of 70 mph.

tell me about it i did this on purpose drove at 50 mph for at least 125 miles and the last 22 miles i started hauling at 80-90 and i was surprised only used 3.5 gal of gas it probably would of been more then 42 mpg..

I am new to ecomodding and from Michigan (Ann Arbor) also. I have noticed how slow 55 feels after driving 80 my entire life. I just picked up a scanguage. I would definitely recommend it. It is $150, but it is so much fun and I can see already how it will help me increase my mpg. Best of luck to you with your cobalt!

Welcome from another MI member!

It sounds like you found the sweet spot for MPG, slow I do 45-50 on back roads and 55 on the highway but my last 3 tanks have been 53, 52.5 and 53 MPG. the low one was from Bay city to Gladstone and back in one tank (640 miles).

Welcome here.

Don't drive 50 mph in busier cities like detroit or Novi or West Bloomfield they worst drivers.

I cruise 60-65 mph most time in my life.
