New & working with an 1989 CRX Hf

Been lurking on this site for years!

I finally got something that I can really enjoy chasing MPG with..

I have had a ton of Civics, but I just managed to get my hands on a bone stock CRX Hf..

She is a 1 owner all original.. But, sadly she was recently damaged in a small fender bender. And, just needs a few pieces and a little love to be back on top.

I can't wait to get started on my Eco-Mod Project ! ! !

Nice little find. Planning to get a vacuum gauge and MPGuino? Did the HF have a tachometer? Those will be your best friends in terms of instrumentation for an OBD1 car.

Looks like three 80s Civics in that driveway. Nice.

Sometimes I feel the urge to move south or west so I can find Honda's without rust! It's extremely rare to find a stock CRX in Missouri, and finding a stock CRX with a good body is going to cost a lot of $$$. I'm glad to see you find this car and use it as it was intended.

That is a mighty nice little scooter.

I had a '78 with the "Hondamatic," that little spud got 30mpg even when the fuel pump was leaking. I miss that car.

Welcome, DRMORTY & congrats on a successful de-lurking!

That CRX HF miser looks like a fun project.

Thanks guys.

I got this car just so I could do a Highway MPG build..

I already have a couple Civics that I daily drive.

I am a big fan of Aero Civic and would like to build a similar car with:

I am thinking Aero Package:
-Complete Belly Pan
-Removalble Boat Tail
-Possible Removable Nose Cone
-Grill Block
-Tire Spats or Contoured Deflectors
-Smooth wheel covers
-Lowered
-Rear wheel skirts
-Wiper area delete
-Both Mirror Deletion
-Fill all seams and gaps

& Possibly a matching Aero-Trailer.

I will be building it for road trips and excursions.

1987 Honda CRX (30,600 miles) - Antique Collector

Saw this one on Craigslist, but I think it is the standard model. I'm not really interested at the price and carburetors are OK when they are on a bike, but not at that age on a car, at least for me anyway.

Yours is EFI which, to me, makes a huge difference and would be very desirable.

Good luck with your project.

Looks like the core support and possibly the frame rails are shifted over to the passengers side. If so, it needs to be pulled with the front bumper reinforcement still attached. Best way would be to pull on the bumper support and the radiator core support simultaneously to try to bring them to the drivers side at the same time.

Ya, definitely getting a core support.. Frame rails are straight. The headlight was busted, so I zip-tied a spare in there to get me home at night.

I am gonna be pulling the front end apart and sorting it all out.

I have spares of almost every part. But, not looking forward to drilling out all the core support welds. Gotta do it, if I want the condenser to fit back in there. And, in FL... You gotta have A/C.. Even if it is for a High MPG car.. There is just some comforts that you can't do without. ;)
