Newb/Lurker getting serious about eco

My name is Ryan and I'm a gasoholic.

It wasn't always a problem; I thought I could control it. $20 here, $10 there, maybe just a couple of gallons to get me through the day - it was killing me and I knew it. It dictated where I could live, based on proximity to my oft travelled places. Work, school, and... you know... the gas station.

I thought it was getting better, I thought I knew how to control it. I bought an Outback. But then I bought a... a uhh... a minivan. I've come a long way already, mind you. A long way from the days of the 15mpg V6 4-Runner. But it's not like the old days - before I was a gasoholic; when I was in a '93 Tercel.

I need your help, ecomodders. I need you more now than ever. I'm looking at beginning a 60+ mile commute. I'm also looking at a 2000 Insight. I know that whatever path I choose, I need to squeeze it for all its worth and get it under control.
