Hello everybody,

This newbie living in Finland.
I'm very interested about eco driving and ecomods,
that's why i decided to join here.

I driving peugeot 206SW 2.0HDI, average consumption in summer times is about 4,9L/100km and winter time ~5,7L/100km (48mpg and 41,3mpg).

I have installed ASA ECO commonrail tuning box to my peugeot and this drops fuel consumption about 15%.

Few mods i decided to do to my ride;
- led day lights to minimize power consumption
- new tyres, 145/80R14 Bridgestone ecopic
- intercooler

Joo eli eikös tuossa peugeotissa ole vakiorengastus lähellä 185/65/R14 kokoa, kuten minun seat cordobassakin? Jos on niin en paljoa alle 165 renkaita laittaisi alle, turvallisuussyistä. Noissa 145 renkaissa tulee varmaan jo kantavuusrajatkin vastaan?

Itselläni on tällä hetkellä 175/80R14 renkaat edessä välitysten suurentamisen takia. Taakse on tulossa 165/80R13 renkaat pienemmän massan sekä madalluksen vuoksi.

If I knew any Finnish, I'd try to say something appropriate, but my closest association with Finland is ... a friend in university whose family came from there. :)

There aren't many Peugeots around here, but someone looked at my car today and said it looked like "one of those French Peugot cars". (But I think he meant Citroen.)

Vakiorengastus on juuri tuollainen, kokonaispainoa autollani rekisteri otteen mukaan 1590kg => Bridgestone B381 Ecopia 145/80R14 76T täyttää lainvaatimukset kantavuuden osalta (76 = 400kg per rengas) tosin kapeuden takia tartteis käydä muutoskatsastamassa.

I think that those tires are quite okay. My peugeot suspension is quite stiff, that is why i like to test high profile tires.

Intercooler installation is quite challenge modification. Turbocharger is between engine and "firewall". And i assume that i should take it away for yearly inspections :confused:

But i like to test how it's affects...

Curious: much press on eco-driving or hypermilng in Finland?

Although I can't speak for Finland, I think there's press for ecomodding everywhere all the time

Yes, press to ecodriving is big. Next year our car taxation change, new taxation based on cars CO2-emission. This pushes everybody think which kind of car they really need when they are buying new car.

Fuel price is quite high in Finland, before christmas we have very expensive fuel(95E ~1,5€/L and Diesel ~1,28€/L), now 95E 1,25€/L and Diesel 0,94€/L)

Conversion: diesel here in Finland costs 4,629$/gal(US).
95E petrol costs 5,786$/gal(US).

Is it cheap??


Yes it's true; if you want to win in rally or F1, hire a Finn :D
