Newbie Here

Hey guys the names Justin. I am a student in college right now and I sold my tacoma 4x4 which I loved deeply because it was killing me in gas. I am really glad I found this forum cause I am in the market for a very fuel efficient car that wont break the bank. I have had a few tdis but German cars are expensive to own so now I am in the market for a Honda or Toyota. I came across a 91 CRX HF for $1800 with a new rebuilt motor and tranny but the only down fall is that it doesn't have ac which I will really need cause I move back to Texas for school. Anyways I am really looking forward to learning how to achieve better mpg. You guys have a good one

Welcome to the forum.

That CRX would have been great.

Hope you keep us posted on your search.

I do still have the chance to buy it but I think it would be a little price to put ac in to it.

Probably less expensive to get a beaded seat cover, a fan and an ice water cooled vest :)

Welcome! I have noticed that Texas cars might have more friendly pricing than CA., but if you plan to go back to CA later, I understand you would need a fully smogged
ride!

Maybe it would be worth while to become a resident for whatever years, and sell before a CA return?

Hey guys bumping this old thread because I am looking to pick up a nice reliable fuel efficient car while I am in college. I just sold my 11 civic which was good on gas but payments were killing me. I am currently looking at 2 cars. The first one is a 97 civic hx that looks to be in excellent condition inside and out but has 263k miles for 2750obo. The other car is a 93 civic vx with 236k miles that is in good condition but needs a few things like an alignment and new belts and is accident free. The guy is asking 2900obo but the only down fall is he is 5 hours away. Which one sounds like a better car?

Well I just heard back from the guy with the HX and he said it has been sold so it looks like it will be the VX :)
