Newbie From NY/NC

Hey all,

Just joined on and wanted to say hello. Have not gotten big into the ecomodding work yet though very much want to. Have a 2013 F150 I use to haul a good amount of stuff but have also been looking at getting a gen 1 Insight to daily and have some fun with. I also have a 2007 Xterra that is my camp rig/toy and a 1985 944 that is my fun weekend car. I am big into trying to find things to make my fleet as self sustaining and efficient as possible, including use of alternative fuels, electrification, etc. I know my fleet does not scream ecomodding but want to make use of what I have and show that other areas can be fun but also efficient

At least for the F-150 and the XTerra, the body-on-frame layout makes it quite easy to do somewhat extensive mods without much harm to structural integrity.

Welcome to the forum!

Ford F-150...
If you do use it to haul a good amount of stuff it sounds like a good vehicle to have around. But what is it that you haul with it? Could an aero shell over the bed work, or would you not be able to haul anything that way? Another alternative altogether is to dump the pickup and get a trailer to pull with a car. That's what I did. Of course I don't haul a lot.

Eco is relative. If you need an F-150, modding it for efficiency, economy, and lowered pollution is ecomodding. Any progress?
