Newbie w/ a BMW 318ti
Hello all,
Just thought I'd introduce my self. I've been driving my 318 for ten years and she has 230k on her I commute 100 miles a day on long flat Fl highways it makes ridge riding and constant throttle driving easier. I have changed the rear diff to a 2.79lsd from a E30 eta Put on taller skinnier tires If do all highway driving I can get up to 39mpg. Cecil |
Was the Diff swap a bolt-in for your 318 ? I had been thinking of getting a 325eta as a highyway machine but maybe your high geared 4 cylinder swap is even better !

The ti's use the E30 rearend All other E36 use a newer E36 rear The Eta rear is a bolt in for the ti, and they are cheap because no one wants them. If you were to buy an E36 318 to get four doors, then you could use a six cylinder 2.93 and get the same result. Or just get a 1991 318i, which is an E30 body style with four doors and buy an Eta diff. Cecil |
