Thin on details, but this isn't the first time Ghosn has publicly said the company is more interested in pursuing EVs than hybrids.

I doubt it. Nissan owns (part of?) Renault, which has a history of battery EV production vehicles (not hybridized). I'd bet they'll be looking at a small city car type vehicle based on lithium ion.

Chevy Volt
Nissans Volt
Mistubshi's EV (Japan only)
Honda FCX in So Cal
Accord and Civic cTDIs
New version of the Prius

VW should have a TDI Hybrid in the States by 2010.
