Nissan sentra mpg

I'm building a b13 for mpg of course and I'm wondering if the GA13 or sr20ve would b a good swap.I don't know to much about the GA13 and I don't even know were I can get 1 but I'm thinking the ga13 would be better because of it being a 1.3 but I hear so much about the neo motor being better for mpg. I don't wanna go aero mods because I like the look of my b13 n I'm going to put the sunny front eventually if you recommend a different motor or advice I would appreciate it

I'd definitely go with a smaller engine for fuel economy. If you can't find a 1.3, then look for an older 1.5 from the early '80s, or the 1.6 that came in the B13s.

Would the wiring from the 15s be a problem I think I know my answer to it but just wanna make sure If I'm rite And what's the highest mpg u seen between the 15s and 16s

Yeah, I wasn't thinking. If all the B13s were OBD-I, then you'll have to stick with OBD-I engines.

I once got an honest 45 mpg, 450 miles from Salt Lake City to Las Vegas, on 10 gallons of gas. That was in an '82 Sentra wagon, when I drove like a madman.

The 1.5 was a timing belt engine SOHC. The 1.6 was DOHC chain driven cams. I doubt you will see enough mileage improvement to ever justify that swap, even if it is possible.
Nissan also made a diesel version of that Sentra that was a mileage champion.

I drove a 4dr 240 miles (pre E10 here) on the Interstate on 6 gallons of fuel, going the speed limit or slightly over. The 1.6 is a great engine with few flaws. As long as you have decent gearing it should be good for great mileage, driven properly.

What bout the sr16ve and the sr20ve got any info on their mpg ratings

SentraSE-R 10-31-2011 12:33 AM

I had an SR20DE in my MT B14, & counted on averaging 30 mpg traeling 7 mph over the PSL (I still had a lead foot then). It surprised me with 36 mpg from time to time. The VE engine should do better.

My '82 Sentra wagon had a 1.5 engine in it.
