Is it an optical illusion or are the rear tires smaller than the front (FWD) tires?

Found another picture :

Manufacturer-backed Chevy Cruze enters the BTCC with Jason Plato | SkiddMark - March 22, 2010

Quote:
After a dream start to the 2010 WTCC season, Chevrolet have announced their entry of their race winning Cruze to the British Touring Car Series in the hands of Jason Plato and newcomer Alex MacDowall.

This is an ‘official’ manufacturer-backed campaign, with 2010 expected to be one of the closest and most exciting in the race series’ history. The cars will be prepared by the Wellingborough-based RML team, which also looks after Chevrolet’s WTCC Cruzes.
The livery isn't exactly the same, but it looks like all the same mods. I think the grill is a faux-honeycomb. The only real holes above the bumper are the "nostrils" in the faux-grill.

CFG83 - the BTCC is Jason Plato's British Touring Car Championship version, Basically an updated version of the '09 WTCC car, and ran by RML (who used to sponsor me, and prep cars for Uncle Dave)

isn't that one of the Cruze 'cup' cars in your second foto?

I am not sure. I was just googling and found it at this URL :

2011 Chevrolet Cruze Eco Sporty RS Appearance | Prices, Reviews, Specifications

In the picture, just in front of the driver's front wheel, there is an "RML" on the white front air dam.

I think the article is from August 2010 because the pictures have "2010/08" in the URL path.

What about the weight reduction from the interior removal, does that count?
Or would the roll cage offset that?

That is Mr Alain Menu and that is the interior of an '09 spec WTCC Cruze

its quick sad that I can deifferentiate the two years of WTCC cars from one item in the cockpit

the 2011 car runs an up-bore tversion of the 1.4 turbo - its ran out to 1.6 but will probably be a similar power to the 2litre NA engines that they currently run.... who knows maybe a touch more

I take it back about the Cruze cup car it looks more like the 08 cruze wtcc test mule. here's the cup car
