I've seen crazy bikes like that going around NYC. It certainly is a conversation piece if nothing else...

They have those 6 + 1 seat bikes in Boston. Have seen them alot at the Red Sox games where they have pedi-cabs for fans to ride to from parking garage to the ballpark. There's a couple of them that sit outside the ballpark before and after games to transport larger groups to and from their cars.

All 7 guys pedal and 1 of the 7 steers. Looks weird when they're going up the street and all 7 guys are pedaling (some of them moving backwards as they pedal). Pretty cool to see in action! They seem to run very slow for the amount of energy that is being pumped into them from the 7 pedalers. I've never seen one going faster than 10 mph on the street.
