NSF Anywhere! Don't Watch! Eco-ride dating advice.

OK I warned you, though I dig this so much that it's worth the grief. My well off pal with all the swanky cars doesn't get why rolling a $100k car on a first date can yield poor results, where as the most fun I have ever had in my life when it came to dating was either in a rotted out '86 Accord with a space saver spare tire on it, or my '88 Civic wagon that actually had a constant Check Engine Light, and no stereo. Not caring about it is where it's at, be who you are and just have fun! Just my 2 cents, but either way this is pretty funny. Plus that dude's ride is pretty sexy! :snail:

I've had girls ask if I expect them to get into my hoopty, to which I reply "yes, now get in".

My first GF dated my friend before me because he had a cool truck (F150 Lightning).

Cool cars attract certain women. I tend to be repulsed by the type of women that place a lot of emphasis on image rather than substance. For that reason my idea used to be to become a millionaire, but drive a crappy car on the first few dates, just to make sure the girl is into me and not my things. My other idea was to retire early at age 50 and marry a 25 year old.

I'm now 33, not a millionaire, and my wife is 29. I still consider myself fortunate.

Life gets in the way of things, don't it?

Edit: Also, in my experience, cool cars attract way more guys than girls. Which, depending what you're looking for, is good or not so good.

I like how the "chic a chic ah" sound was actually "piece a **** car" hahahahah

I don't even have a 'check engine' light. Do they stay on when the key is off? Or was it on, and that's why it wouldn't crank?

Road Kill (Episode 5) determined that the Lambo Aventador attracts guys, while the ladies liked the Sailor Jerry rat rod.

Nice cars get attention, and you do actually feel better when you are driving around in one. Kind of like when you are wearing nice clothes, you just feel like you look better. To a point - a nice BMW or Mercedes, maybe a new Mustang or F150, ya I feel good. I drove my buddies Porsche, and his Ferrari once, and I just felt like an a$$hole haha.

But honestly, as long as whatever I am driving is clean, there's gas in the tank, and it will start, I'll go anywhere and have fun with it. Being in the car business I get grief like you can't believe from people, "You are still driving THAT thing??" but I keep doing it, I like this stuff, it's fun! I cross the border a lot, and I had to stop taking my CX across as apparently the border patrol now equates a beater with a smuggler - the patrol agents that walk up and down the lines of cars waiting to get to the booths ask "How long have you had this car for?" when they see a beater. I've had it for 3 years or so. If I lie I'm a smuggler, if I tell the truth I'm a really good smuggler it seems, either way I get pulled in and my car searched. So I take the Miata when I have to go south, it's old and nerdy too but at least it doesn't get me searched. People can have their fancy rides, and I may ask to borrow one on occasion, but as soon as you start putting too much money/effort into trying to look flashy, it just seems to backfire.

PS I think I need to change my email signature to "You see what I drive right? I'm way out of your league!" haha. That's gold. :snail:

If that video were true, then I would walk funny, because I take the cake when it comes to crappy cars : http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/a...530_190710.jpg

The roof is painted in white to keep the car cooler in summer. I painted this on it :

( Only high rise trucks can make out what it is though )

Regarding girls versus guys being attracted by 'sports/muscle cars' , I noticed in high school that the guys liked my '69 Camaro, despite it being a piece of s#it, while the girls could care less about it.
I guess to the girls, it just made me a dork in a 'cool' car.

Am I the only one that noticed the guy removed the mirror ? ( for better aero of course ! )

War_Wagon 05-31-2015 02:14 AM

Nope I saw that too. That dude is next level haha. He has all the bases covered. Plus if the check engine light stays on long enough, the bulb will burn out, and voila, no more check engine light! A genius says I :snail:
