obd1 to obd2 adapter for scangauge
 
Has anyone tried to use an obd1 to obd2 adapter cable in order to use a scangauge? Not sure that the information would be what the scangauge would need to get a mpg measurement. I know there are guys on here that have a better knowledge of this.

Yeah, at best I think you would see a subset implementation that wouldn't get you much in return. If you got really lucky the manufacturer may have implemented parts of the OBDII protocol in advance of the 1996 deadline, but it's hit or miss.

For pre-OBDII cars with fuel-injection, the MPGuino is the way to go.
