Awesome video!!! The smart took one hell of a hit. You can see how well made the smart is.

Looking forward to other models. Like the smart diesel and the smart hybrid.

How the hell did the S-class test dummy get grease on their legs! Holy crap.

Taking note - don't sit in the front of an S-class

I don't know if you were joking, but that's paint. They apply paint of different colors on the surfaces so they can see what the dummy hit.

I was very impressed at how well the Smart stood up. So impressed with the structure, that I wonder how the occupants could deal with it. They seemed to go from forwards to backwards pretty quickly - the joys of inertia wars.

Speaking of inertia... I remember an older guy telling me about a crash he had and how just before he hit he floored it so that he'd be better off in the crash.

Sorry... but he's an idiot - or, at least, ignorant to some physics... Speeding up doesn't change the energy split in a collision unless you're dumping or adding a huge amount of mass in the process. You're just giving yourself more energy that you'll need to cope with.

I should add, an impending crash with an oncoming vehicle.
