Wow. Swapped to a BMW 2.7 TD? That's nice!

Williamsven 02-01-2010 08:16 PM

read the wiki entry on that car, it was NOT a swap over ! ! its STOCK ! it was special order from the factory and it came like that ! some of them even came with a ZF 5 speed ! that ZF five speed is the base tranny for some F250 and F350 PICKUPS ! its a WW2 TANK tranny ! !

Well, that's fairly interesting. I wouldn't exclusively trust the wiki entry on it, because anyone can edit it with any agenda they happen to have, but if it was as you say, that's pretty neat!

Frankly, I wanted to put a 7.3 IDI in a 1994+ Mustang chassis with a really long 5 speed.

That is one weird piece. Did you see the trunk? It looks like a 1980's cheap hotel lounge chair. Remarkable.

of , oh, hundreds , or , perhaps, more like thousands of cars ive driven
( i own my own automotive business, ) .. . . the two most comfortable cars I EVER sat in, were a mint condition mid 90s' LSC Mark VII, ... or a 90s Volvo 240 or 940. . the 740 seats some of them were just too ... swoopy.
those 240 seats, were designed by Chiropractic SURGEONS, in Sweden, in the late 60s early 70s.. the Mark seats are JUST as comfy as a restored Volvo 240 seat. I bet even that pimpdogged out plush fuzzy trunk is comfy to nap in.

the Mark seats are awesome.. .for just being, pure plush lazy boy heaven.. the volvo 240 for being long term back health.
When my wife ( the woman of my dreams with a brilliant mind and also drop dead model beautiful.. ) told me that her office chair was making her size 5 trunk hurt on long days, I took it upon myself to build her an office chair. took a day of taking seats apart at the junkyard, time getting a collection of perfect seat parts together, .. then almost two days of building it, and finding a good chair base that would fit... but its been months now and she has never been this comfortable at her work.
It was a toss up between a Volvo 240 seat or a Mark VII seat. . i opted for the Volvo seat because the Mark seats are not single , they are almost always part of a multi section bench that can operate in sections, or together.. but , either way, the mark was far too complex to build into an office chair.. even as comfortable as it may have been. so, she got the Volvo 240 seat, . . and shes as happy as can be with it.

Wow... I was more than happy to get one of these:

Worked wonders when I had to spend long hours in an office in front of a computer. I used to carry it with me if I knew I was going to be doing office work outside my normal area.

That's not the one that I had specifically, but it's close.

I like those too.
I was 15, fresh license in 1987..
the mark lincoln was on tv , with a suspension that auto dropped and top speed of 150 mph (limited by america)..
I thought "holy crap. I want one."

I still do, except my locale has abused my taste..and I witnessed an untimeley death, realtime with a ford thunderbird of the same chassis as the mark lincoln in photo..due to a catastrophic front end failure. A strong message is how I took it...to not even get one.
of course, today can fix the dainty things, and the steering rack as pinion etc, there is no need for staying with the faults, just add hot rod heavier stuff. I have seen these in the 10s/.25 mile with turbos and still casual.

where is the lumbar adjust ? or the thoracic nerve support areas on a race style chair though ?
yes.. it looks awesome.. but. . adjustments ? memory foam ? intelligent springs?
her office chair weighs in at about 75 lbs.
