One of a kind super aero RV.
Spotted this one in my small town. Custom built Diesel Toy Hauler
Custom built for Kelloggs in the 1990's it was the transport and support vehicle for the Tony the Tiger hot air balloon. Not mine but I wish it was! Has to be quite a story to how it came to be in Weiser, Idaho. 16 Navette motor homes were built but this is the only one on a Ford chassis and the last one built. (The others were built on Isuzu.) http://zrpy.com/photos/tonythetiger2.jpg http://zrpy.com/photos/current.jpg |

If it rolled over, somebody could confuse it for a boat.

Dual purpose

13mpg, that's pretty cool! I wonder how big the water tank is with it not having a shower.

With this RV as inspiration, 18+ years ago, why are RV manufacturers still encrusting their rigs with all kinds of very un-aerodynamic things sticking out into the wind?
I found a message online from the builder of the Navette that he has one from 1994, a bunch of parts and all the molds etc for sale for $100,000 The design would have to be modified for a current chassis, but think of the possibilities with direct injection diesel and other new tech. A 20+ MPG RV would be very nice, even if it does somewhat resemble a StarSpeeder 3000 from the Star Tours ride. |
i think i could get by with my vx to fit one of these easily.
