Otis's "Shocker" EV Motorcycle
Otis, on YouTube, e-mailed me today saying how he's been watching my videos for a long time, and he's just finished HIS electric motorcycle.
I love how whenever somebody is inspired by my electric motorcycle, they end up building a much cooler-looking, more powerful cycle. People must think "Hey, if that Ben guy can do it, I should be able to do something even better" and then they do. Here's the proof! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbMMUavD2IM&t=1m33s Here's another video, from a little over a month ago, showing some of the build, and the first test-ride, before the new paint job is done. Anyone recognize that sound? That "Homebuilt, Chain-Drive Electric Motorcycle Sound" is so distinct, I would recognize it anywhere! |
I wish I could hear the bike and not the noise in the video.

Whoops, that second video didn't post right.
Here it is again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIfzSGuTP4Q In this video, once it gets through showing the still photos, it's all test drive with no background music, so you can hear the sound of the cycle. |
Does he have more info on that motorcycle some where? specs on what he used for a motor and battery pack?
It looks like GBS batteries. I like how at the very end of the video you can hear the chain and tires but that is about it, I have to wonder if shooting a video of electric motorcycles on an indoor track might be the best way to get the true sound of them. |
I e-mailed him to see if I could get some more info. Hopefully he has a bit of a build blog somewhere. I thought it was a great-looking bike and knew people would be interested in it.
