out with the old, in with the new (PriusIII)
As I mentioned on Father's day, my daughter had decided to start getting better mileage. She lives in Austin and traffic is pretty bad. Not much opportunity to get better MPG out of the 2011 Ford EDGE V6 (the mpg monitor shows 18 avg mpg on every tank)
So after doing her own research, she decided on a Toyota Prius. She even explained to me how the Prius was the best for intown because of how the electric motor worked in the low mph/around town! She got a great deal  on a VERY CLEAN 2012 PRIUS III w 20,000 miles |
Its good she avoided the initial depreciation hit and was informed on the biggest merit of the drivetrain too=wisdom imparted:thumbup:

Mccrews, have you driven one before? What did you think?

My buddy bought the new PRIUS (sport?) for his daughter and 4 of us road in it for a short trip up the highway and I was pleasantly surprised. Decent pick up and relatively comfortable seating for a small car (im 6'3" 245) |
Well, post back with some mileage numbers when your daughter has put a tank or two through it.

I have seen some 'electric' hot rods and mustangs on the net. They seem to have a crap load of torque.
If I could find a 'nice size' car with the same stuff that the prius has, I would get one. |
Like Camry sized? They do that one as a hybrid. And all the Lexus sedans.
Also the new Accord is supposed to be good. Ford Fusion... there must be more. |
FYI the Prius (except the C) is a mid size car not a small car. It IS in the same class as the Camry.
|
I have seen some debates on how big it actually is. New cars are for rich people! :)

2013 is 3 years old. :p
