Physics behind the Fuel efficiency of Sequoia and MDX
Hi ecomodder!
I'm new to the blog so i'm not sure if this is where I post this question but! I'm going on a road trip in the summer. My friends and I are going to take 2 cars (2002 sequoia and 2002 mdx) with 4 passengers (including drivers) and camping gears. I was wondering whether it was possible to calculate the fuel efficiency with all those things in the car. Thanks |

The closest thing to an instant calculator to get an estimate would be to enter the vehicle information on the following calculator, you'd need the weight of the vehicle + the people and gear (or at least a close estimate), the frontal area in ft^2 or m^2, the coefficient of rolling friction for the tires (average value around 0.010, estimated engine efficiencies, (22-30% at best for gasoline powered vehicles), the energy density of gasoline, and thats pretty much it really) |
Do you know how I might be able to find the weight of a car?
