IT'S TOO EARLY!

Parts of eastern Ont and northern NY were hit with a serious blizzard last night.

I was on my boat, which was kind of funny/strange.

Got about 15 cm / 6 inches. EDIT: make that 20 cm/ 8 inches.

The bad part is the trees haven't even lost all their leaves yet, so the snow load is wreaking havoc. Lots of tree damage, power outages.

Standing outside this morning, you could hear trees cracking & falling in the neighbourhood. Anyone who experienced the winter ice storm 10 years ago knows that sound instantly.

Pic of me talking to my parents' neighbour this AM - he just had those two trees trimmed a few weeks ago. I guess mother nature decided she wanted a buzz cut. The one on the left is laying on about 1/3 of the road.

Forecast for Friday: 12C / 53F - even warmer next week.

Funny: "Wanted: Snowblower" on the local Freecycle this morning. Good luck, buddy!

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

We got 35 cm last week at the Massif in Charlevoix, 45 minutes from here. Fortunately, Quebec City didn't got any just yet. We had some flakes this morning, but no accumulation.

35cm!! Did you go snowboarding? :)

I am tempted to get mine and go play on the little hill in the park this afternoon.

tasdrouille, I had to look twice to see where you were from. I work in Charlevoix, Michigan. No snow here last night, but at my house the ground was white last night and we got about an inch overnight. I actually took out the 6000 wagon this morning for the first time all season. One guy I work with said he saw someone with about 3 inches on the hood this morning. Tomorrow is supposed to be a warm 50 degrees though.

3-4 inches on my car this morning. Still white out there. A downed tree made my drive to work longer.

You're all late :-) We had some a few weeks ago: just a dusting down here in the valley, but a good few inches at the higher elevations. (Which is not unusual: I've seen snow down here in late August, and skied as early as September 9th.) Of course it always warms up again after: it's been in the 70s since.

Where are you from James? I realize we're all from Earth. Well, at least I think most of us are. :)

Northern Nevada, just south of Reno. Right at the base of the Sierra, which is why we tend to get weather that's just a tad on the variable side :-)

Here in NW NJ we got hit pretty bad too. up to 12 inches in some parts.
I lost power for about 24 hours. Good thing the temps were still above 30.F
