pick up truck wheel well fairings

I am wondering a pickup truck wheel arches. I have been noticing since I bought my truck that on most trucks that while the front wheel wells are faired in the rear wheels are not. Anyone have any insights or thoughts on this?

There was a thread a while back that I remember that showed on the newest 2015 Chevy Silverado/ Sierras they had a flat fairing in front of the rear tire. Looked almost like a miniature mud flap. I will try to find the post and link it here.

Edit: Here is the thread.

I'm not clear on what the 'faired in' is. There're spats, flares and windsplits. The linked thread is about spats on the rear.

Can we see an example?

Online I am finding products called wheel liners.

On the fronts there is typically nothing else, no sheet metal, separating the engine compartment from the tires and wheels. On the previous generation Gm full size trucks I know the rears were an option/accessory, but they were suposedly for corrosion / noise from salt, sand, gravel blasting the metal fender

I am thinking of getting some. For $95 to $130 they aren't that expensive. When I am doing under body paneling they will give me something to panel up to.
