Plx Kiwi
Just received and connected my KIWI. Now I will be able to see how efficiently I'm driving.

Interested in a review, ;)

I just got to test out a kiwi this week. It was weird, I've driven my girlfriend's Prius 100 times and never really cared about the MPG readings in the dash. But the opportunity to see how my beat up old Civic was doing? I couldn't resist.
It's really fun and easy. The trip summaries are solid and provide the bare bones, most relevant information. Next up is to try doing some things from the tips list (first is adding some air in my tires) to see how much better I can do. I only averaged 24.8 mpg on a 30 mile trip yesterday (I'm a novice.) |
DJGill and mikeb535, tell us more about it.
My car isn't OBDII compatible :-( but it interests me nonetheless, may be for my future car ;) Thanks in advance, Denis. |
So I had a little more time to try out the Kiwi (I rarely drive these days) and I had a few snafoos. I tried out the games functionality. The first test is to drive smoothly for 3 minutes...essentially you get a real time score from 0-100 about how smoothly you're driving (coasting gives you 100) and you have to maintain above a 65 for 3 minutes (I may be a little off on the numbers, but you get the idea.)
It actually took me a few times to pass it and I was also shocked about the fact that being on cruise control for virtually the whole 3 minutes didn't pass...how much "smoother" can you get. Anyway, after I passed I tried to move on to another test and it brought me back to the same one. I admit, I was still driving so I wasn't paying full attention, but it didn't advance me as I expected. More information as I have it.... |
