awesome score today

working at a grocery store does have its benefits

I managed to score 4 sheets of 4'x8' coroplast (sp) that was used for a beach display. One side is white, the other side has a beach scene

now i can make some fender skirts, grill block and somewhat of a belly pan...

and to think, I was looking at lowes today for the stuff

what is the melting point of this stuff? my exhaust doesnt have a channel to fit into like FWD cars.

I'm sure exhaust will melt it, at least near the catalytic converter and the first 6' from the engine. The tailpipe area might be ok to have it close to, if it's been exposed to air the rest of the way back. I'm planning on using fairly tough window screen under the car.

Oh, and you should definitely leave the beach scene facing outward. I'm using election signs and I was driving with my new air dam last night (hadn't painted it yet), and I noticed several people staring from other cars at stoplights trying to figure out what it said.
The beach car would be sweet!

no cat on this car, its a diesel. Only form of emissions control I removed and it improved my mpg slightly. The EGR put so much crud into my intake it was disgusting.

I need to get an infared thermometer so I can point and get values.

The underside of my mercedes is very "dirty" not just from the oil and 24 years of road grime but all of the engine parts, exhaust, rear subframe and etc hanging all over I bet the belly pan will clean it up.

I just need to research how to fasten it to my car without ruining the car itself.

I think I can leave the first 4 feet of exhaust pipe uncovered since it comes right off the turbo and post turbo EGT's are somewhere around 600-700F, under load.I think some form of aluminum or thin steel will work there.

The bell pan is like step 3, step two is the front grill block, well, lower grill block since I need my grill un blocked
