Possible Kill Switch?
5 Attachment(s)
Hey,
Just wondering if this little guy will work as a kill switch?...Attachment 8504 Attachment 8505 Attachment 8506 Attachment 8507 Attachment 8508 I took it out of a Playstation 2! It has two prongs on the back and then two solder spots.. Id like it to work cause its so dang tiny.. It doesn't look to bad either... Thanks! |
yes that will work.

Personally I wanted a momentary switch for my fuel cut, since I wanted to just be able to release it when I wanted fuel. don't know if leaving it switched off may or may not be a safety issue as you will have to actively switch the gas back on...
here's mine: http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5014/...98972bfb1c.jpg |
Ya, but on long coasting you'd want to be able to just switch it off and not have to hold it wouldn't you?
|
I actually have both :D (I use the switch for security, can't start the car with no gas ;) ) but for 99% of the time I use it, I just use the pushbutton. It would have to be a LOOOONNNNGGGG (1mi or more) coast for it to be too long to use the momentary button, and around here anyway, there aren't any areas like that.

Can you post some pics of your switches?:D
Did you just double splice your wire to get both the switches in there? |
Wire runs from injector, to switch 1 then to switch 2 then to the injector driver circuit.
the other switch is just inside the glove box on the driver's side (I can reach it easily while driving): http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5301/...365075fb0e.jpg the other switch is for my alarm system, I also lock the glove box via a key when its parked (its a convertible) |
Nifty.. That is a good idea.. maybe ill have three kill switches with one in the glove box;)
Kinda like the idea of the switch in the shifter knob. Was that hard to do? |
A little since I had to drill a hole into the rubber, then cut a cavity big enough for the switch base into the plastic. I then filled it with RTV. pretty much followed the guide here but my switch's base was larger:
Geo Metro Fuel Injection Kill Switch Personally I didn't use a relay, I just ran the injector wire to my switches, it works fine, but the relay is probably safer. |
Hmm... Ill probly just keep it in the dash:) or maybe attached to the steering wheel in a clean way? Idk.. Ha.
