Possible to not have the combined mpg set the bar?
i don't do any highway driving, its all city for me.
On the fuel logs it automatically puts the combined mpg as the default, but since i don't do highway, it shows me at a little below the combined mpg. anyway to put in what % of driving is city and/or highway so if the combined doesn't apply, it wont? |
Shhhhhh, don't tell anyone but you can put any # in you want !
A few people here use other baselines. I think Alohaspirit uses the hwy#s as his commute is all hwy. There are a few with trailers that have 2 fuel logs, the one with the truck only gets the EPA combined # and they use their old, pre Ecomodder trailer combo MPG as the baseline. If it is done for the wrong reasons, it is cheating. There are extenuating circumstances that make it valid. The bottom line is it is a goal to improve yourself, not to beat others. |
I'm with Jason. If all your driving is in city type conditions, it would be reasonable to enter the city EPA number for both city and highway for your car. I've done plenty driving on congested NJ roads (and also in New York City) and I think I know what you're working with.

I agree with Jason as well. I have a problem when people make things like this a competition against others. The reason we are here is for mutual benefit and cooperation.
That being said, it might be nice to have an option to check which type of driving you principally do... or maybe that could be more than just a notes section with the Fuel Log. Just some thoughts, but this work around is just as effective for now. |
thanks guys, i don't know why i didn't think of doing that lol. and no its not really competition with anyone else, its more or less for me. I'm gettinf a few miles better and seeing it tell me i'm a % percent below is a little saddening, but thanks again!

Okay rather than create a new thread, this is still on the same subject. i changed the combined MPG estimate to reflect the city since that is what i drive. well it hasn't changed it in the bar graph.
additionally i added a new fuel log fill up, and it too hasn't shown up in the graph. |
Everything shows right to me. Reload/refresh the fuel log page. The image is likely stored in your browser's cache and just needs to be redownloaded.

I think there's still an issue. The "EPA Combined" line is still at 22 after I refresh the image, not at 17.
But I think there's an easy fix for Debonair. I'm pretty sure you will need to enter "17" for both the City and Highway mpg. It looks like the EcoModder site is calculating the average to get the combined number. If you already entered 17 for Combined, I think the site is ignoring it and averaging 17 & 27, getting 22. Ya gotta tell it 17 for every EPA MPG number you can input. Then it will calc the average of 17 & 17 & 17 = 17, and all will be well. |
