There have been some studies on this field, but anyway, vegetable oils are not biodiesel. And since straight vegetable oils don't rely on some chemicals required to turn them into an alcohol ester (usually a fatty-acid methyl ester, but with the methanol being replaced with ethanol it becomes an ethyl ester), they might be an interesting option for farmers.
