Prius Camper

Ran across this jewel... Looks like it can be removed when he is not camping. :)

While this looks cool, and fairly creative, I can't say I can fault the police for making him take it off the road. It looks a bit too rickety.

No interior shots? Oh, and how would you store this if removed? It doesn't look like it can stand on its own.

nimblemotors 06-07-2015 07:16 PM

What a killjoy. ;)

You'd probably like the Toyota version instead, now THAT should never be allowed on the road! This has got to be the worst thing a major car company has ever created.

^^ That must be the reproductive organ of a Toyota factory caught in the moment of giving birth to another Prius!

He should rather followed the same approach of that Swedish Toppola camper targetted to Saab owners.

aerohead 06-08-2015 06:24 PM

license plate

Is the 'THC' on the plate? If so,it should be 420,not 467!:D

cRiPpLe_rOoStEr 06-09-2015 02:31 PM

It almost looks like a shed from a Brazilian favela.

That's Y, not T.

Interesting. It looks like he removed the hatchback door to make this work.

Xist 08-02-2015 02:18 AM

Nimble, that looks like a Prius stole Donald Trump's hair.

I thought that I found that and posted about it on here. Oh well.

Probably. But it still doesn't make so much sense anyway. He would be better off if he adapted one of those expansible roof tops (often referred to as "pop-top") widely used in European and Asian campervans.

And still better off if he'd just get a tent & sleeping bag.

I suspect that's been photoshopped. Find it hard to believe someone THAT stupid. (not counting me, of course :))

dirtydave 08-03-2015 09:53 PM

i wonder if the stock fuel economy could be restored with a boat tail

RedDevil 08-04-2015 03:18 AM

I don't think the shed has been photoshopped. Both car and shed are lighted from the right and some reflective object somewhere low on the left. It would be hard to match that up.

I found a site for the Prius camper van: Hybrid RV Conversions : Prius camper van

Fluffy pink balls, I'm sold.

While we're at it.
Nice mod when you ran into someone.

This one ran into a carpenter.

Here is one discussion of the Prius RV, but I thought that we had another: http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...ing-20152.html

We had a member that bought salvage-titled Prii and replaced parts of it with wood. He said that the safety inspector did not want to pass off his oak bumper because it was not the full width of the car, even though he pointed out that it was wider than the stock bumper.

Rooster, it looks like a redneck hearse.

Real carpentry would look like this:

With a Type III flatmotor this could have a floor 8" lower, more similar to the Prius.
