Entire Federal Vehicle Fleet to be EVs

The entire US government’s fleet of roughly 230,000 passenger vehicles and 412,000 trucks are planned to be replaced with electric models as the new Biden administration shifts its focus toward EV/clean-energy technologies. The federal fleet vehicles has to be 'Made in America' created by American workers. They are also closing loopholes that majority of key components; steel, glass, electric motors, batteries, etc must be sourced from American suppliers. The 645,000 government vehicles for federal, state, tribal, postal and local fleet use were driven 4.5 billion miles consuming 375 million gallons of gasoline and diesel. Presently there are only 3,215 US-government clean-energy/electric vehicles. The federal EV fleet conversion also includes the plan for building 550,000 charging stations. Followed up by a proposal to convert 500,000 school buses to clean electric power. Auto industry estimates the enormous federal clean electric requirements would create over a million auto worker/supplier jobs.

Not much point subsidizing things that you're not going to buy yourself.

It doesn't really seem so likely to succeed, just like the so-called "Green New Deal". Had it been a push toward plug-in hybrids, it would be more realistic and easily achievable in a short term.

That's as many passenger vehicles as sold in 2020.

After August 2020, the cumulative number of plug-in electric cars sold in the U.S. is estimated at 1.6 million units, including more than 164,672 during the first eight months of 2020.
They're competing with Amazon for trucks and the Cybertruck won't even ship until the end of the year.

If you're going to throw money around, better that it stays within your own economy. Same with the stupid pipeline bit...why the heck are they shipping oil to the US just to have it sent back as more expensive finished products? Start processing it here. Make jobs, lower the price of gas. Stupid all around not doing that.

I'd love to see Arcimoto build a replacement for The Beast.
Show the world who's in(to) charge(ing).

But they shouldn't name it The Beast anymore. How about the 'Deliberator' ?

The cars have to be built in the USA, why?

I guess they wanted to avoid this one:

the Trumpchi GE3...

Most likely a beefed-up Tesla Model X lookalike would take over the role of The Beast, if the full-EV fleet get actually implemented which I still would take with a grain of salt.

On a sidenote, IIRC there was an American company developing a serial hybrid powertrain for trucks and buses with a multifuel-capable microturbine. Maybe it could serve for an electrified counterpart to The Beast.
