Hi,

Im reading on this page for like a year now and some days ago I decided to join this community. Im from Germany, so please donīt expect my english to be perfect. But Iīll try my best to make everything understandable.

But now, i want to show you the car Iīm working on.

In the past days, i did some drawings about my car. and, they are not that perfect. But it shows, how I think, the car should look like, to improve its fuel economy.

I like to hear your opinion about my little project and maybe someone could give me advices to improve it further.

The rear views of the "modded" and the standart car. they should follow in a few days. im still working on them.

this year I havenīt the time to realize my ideas. but, i want to prepare everything, to build it.

Greetings,

Matthias

You said your English wouldn't be perfect yet you make more sense in one post than I do 99% of the time, and have less grammar errors.

OT: I think it looks good for a project, what type of material do you plan on using to block all of it? I think you would definitely notice a difference in FE with the way you plan on blocking most of the front.

Here are some 'work-in-progress' drawings for an upcoming post on my 1st-gen CRX.They might help you think about your modifications.

thanks aerohead, but i have some stupid ideas about the rear.

my thoughts... a boattail is to big. i want to keep my car as compact as it is now.
so, maybe the best solution in this case is something like a box cavity. but with some airducts to reduce the low pressure "bubble" at the rear.
my plan, direct the cooling-air from the engine in ducts through the car and insight the box. this should increase the pressure in the rear.
so this should maybe reduce drag

i know thats kind of stupid, but maybe it works.

what are your thoughts about that.

With the ducting, there is a risk that air will actually flow from rear to front,as the air attempts to get to the low pressure near the A-pillars and windshield header area.
If you can gain entry to the trunk through the back seat, then,by raising and blocking the trunklid open, you should be able to determine which way the air goes while driving. If the air moves forward,it will do the same with the ductwork and box cavity.
