PSA: When replacing the roof, park a dumpster next to the house
The neighbor is removing his old roof and then having a new one professionally installed. There is a big pile of shingles in the front yard where he shoved them off of the roof. I don't know how long it will take to put all of that in a dumpster, but he could have saved a great deal of work by putting a dumpster there.
He has removed the roof from 1,200+ square-foot house plus [converted] garage in the last day or two. My sister said that she wanted to drive up on Saturday and camp in our backyard with their three kids, so I am going to try to accomplish all of my projects in a few days. So far I am just talking about it. :) I have a few new ones that I want to do, too. I was saying that I could clear out my office and they could use it as a cabin. I could set up a fire pit. What would be another good amenity? Of course, they will just go into the house to use the bathroom. |
Many people view dumpster rental as extremely wasteful of funds. Your neighbor may intend to take the refuse in a pickup since his time is cheaper per hour than a contractor.

He made two trips with a small trailer, but did not put anything in the bed. He said something about weight limits.
Weight limits?! I am sorry! I woke up in America! He could have backed up the trailer before the nails rained down. |
