No gas, no car

As an environmental engineer, disgusted with the road transport system. Cars should ONLY be for fun. My new book, 'The Power Play To End The Car' explains how we SHOULD be traveling to work, etc in the 21st Century. bbb

I don't know anything about your book but, I often wonder how things would end up if gas became scarce or a ridiculously high price. The average neighborhood built in 1900 was clearly designed for walking. The average neighborhood built in 2000 is clearly designed for driving.

SVOboy, that is why I bought a house in town built in the 1920's, even with snow on the ground I've had my bicycle out, although I should get some knobby tires.

Ryland, the only times I use my car is for going shopping "not the weekly groceries" and to go home for holiday. I put on less than 2,000 miles/year. I also ride my bicycle to work/class each day. Even on the nearly coldest days, it's not bad at all. If you wear proper gear - snowpants, gloves, hats, coat, boots, you're fine until about -35 windchill F, and even then, It just hurts on the cheeks. I'm always reminded of the efficiency of modern insulators. The joy's of living in a 1950's apartment

P.S. I'd love some info on your winter setup, mine pushes horribley bad, it's caused me to dork it into several snow banks, as well as staright up whiff it dodging cars, and one one occasion running smack into a piggy who decided he deserved the right of way, even thought he had a stop sign... after all who's gonna ticket him, after smashing into his passenger window, he smiled and drove away, ****ing pigs...
