I need to buy a hand-held vacuum pump ASAP for some diagnostic work on my MAP sensor to resolve ongoing running problems. What do you own? What would you recommend?

Maybe you have something lying around that can be repurposed.

(The amount of vacuum can be approximated from piston position)

I have a hand pump mityvac, works great for bleeding brakes, and testing whatever. It'll pressurize or draw a vacuum and has a gauge that goes both ways.

I have a MityVac also. There may be knock-offs at HF that I would stay away from. I thought HF might even sell the original as well.

Just bought the MityVac at Pep Boys for $32 (tax included). It was the only one they carried but it felt good to be confident of the purchase as I made it. Thanks.
