Q&A for Moon disc fans.

I have equipped 2 of my recent cars w Moon discs.

The 1st one was a '77 Buick Skyhawk fastback in which I when full hog, and chose the bolt on/ drilling the stock wheels type.

Later on, I put the hubcap type ones on a '78 Datsun B210 fastback.

On both of course, had the shortest possible valve stems mounted, but my question to you all is about balancing weights.

Were you comfortable on just letting whatever tire shop putting all of the weights on the inside?

Do you go as far as combining 2 types of weights, ( like motorcycle stick on's for the outside?

Was this a big project (hassle) on your own, or did you find REASONABLE cooperation from your tire shop to do something Different???

Most of us probably aren't going to run our vehicles hard enough to need the bolt on type, but for those of you that do; did you have wheel hole leak issues at all, and if your wheels allowed, did you ever think about a long curved to the inside truck type valve stem???

I would just like to get your thoughts. Thanks!

My rims can only be balanced on the inside.
No issues there.

...mounting the weights as close to the center-line of rotation is actually best, that way they can't introduce any 'wobble' vibration.

I cut notches in my pizza pans to clear the balancing weights. I'll be removing my pizza pans this weekend, partly because they didn't deliver a noticeable increase in FE, but mostly because chicks didn't dig 'em. :D
