New fuel injection retrofit kit for the Ninja

There is a new company offering a really trick fuel injection conversion for carbureted Ninjas. Originally sold for retrofits of the millions of 50-150cc scooters in India and Asia, the company realized it was easily possible for them to double up the hardware to adapt the kit to the small two cylinder Ninja. They have been very responsive to suggestions and have been continually pushing the design forward over the last year to the point where they were able to add enough processing power to incorporate real time closed loop trim via two independent channels with wide band O2 sensors. I don't think there is any other vehicle on the road that can do that. Trimmed to your own maps that you fine tune from your lap top after logging the wide band sensors with some riding time. You can set 13.4 : 1 at full throttle for maximum power and run 16 : 1 lean burns at light throttle for the best fuel efficiency. For $600.

I'm on my smartphone, websurfing isn't the best with it. Do you know if this kit is based around the megasquirt microsquirt system?

Sendler, Thanks for sharing this to us Ninja owners. Unfortunately $600 is a bit much for my $799 Ninja at this point. I'm very curious to see some results with it.

Man would I love that for my Vulcan 500. I can smell the unburned HC in cold weather when venturi induced vaporization is compromised. I have considered trying to preheat the incoming air to improve atomization, as well as a partial radiator block, but that could get dangerous for engine longevity.

His throttle bodies are already 2mm smaller than the stock Ninja carbs so the kit would be too small to fuel the 500 very well at full power. It is really made for up to 125cc scooters and is barely big enough for the Ninja. It is a give away price right now while he rolls out production though. I'm sure it will go up eventually if demand increases. Those wide band sensors aren't cheap.

Looks like they are still having some teething problems. I hope Ecotrons gets it dialed in. It is really a great idea and would be a breath of fresh air for all of the thousands of cheap used Ninjas out there.

$450 in bulk with two 02 sensors and auto tune and basically bolt in for such a niche market aint bad. Hope mpguino works with it.

Sendler,

Read post 471 in the ninjette forum. Those are narrow band sensors in that kit. You might be better off building your own if you are going mpg's at any cost. But I have only read that far so I could be wrong.
