Rain X & NeverFog
I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned these. I have rediscovered these two products:cool: I have been looking for ways to reduce the use of the cars accessories & These two work great:thumbup: I put the Rain X on all of the outside windows & side mirrors. The NeverFog on all inside windows & rear view mirror. They work very well it's been raining here for 3 days & I have not had to use my defrost at all:thumbup: I was on the hiway yesterday and didn't even have to use the wipers:thumbup::thumbup: on the regular roads you use them far less often.:D

I've been meaning to try rainx so I can remove my rear wiper...How much is it?
|
I wouldn't remove the wiper(especially on the rear of the car) the rear of the car gets less wind so the rain doesn't seem to clear as well as in the front. Its cost is about $2.88 for 16oz spray bottle at walmart. I do recommended getting a microfiber cloth for removing the film.(You put it on wait for it to dry to a haze then wipe the haze off much, much, MUCH easier to wipe off the film with the microfiber cloth I can't stress this enough):p

Hmmm, will this stuff work on glasses because mine fog up real bad sometimes. The freezing temperature indoors and high temperature humid air outside in this crazy state make glasses fog all serious like.
|
I'll keep my wipers on, sometimes you don't just get rain. But that NeverFog product is a GREAT idea. I've been forced to use the defrost a lot of times recently, which frustrated me as it's a big FE hit on my car, roughly 2.5 mpg on the highway.
Thanks for the tip! |
Never thought of using NeverFog...actually didn't know they made such a thing. I already use rainX though, I love the stuff. If I'm on the highway, or just anywhere that I'm doing over 50, the water just wicks right off the windshield.

GenKreton- It should work on glasses. With the never fog I have found that the when the windows do start to fog I just crack my window open a little and the with in 1-2 min. the windows clear right up:thumbup:. I found the never fog at ocean state job lot. I haven't looked for it at walmart, auto part stores, etc. but I would think that they would have it.

Applying a light coat of dish soap to the inside of the glass and wiping away, will stop fogging. Also, I find tinted windows are much more resistant to fogging.
|
O, thanks for the tip JohnnyGrey, I'll have to try the dish soap thing tonight, once I'm off work and it cools down somewhere below 95F...bleh, hot weather.
