Ram 1500 Revolution - First Look

The Ram 1500 Revolution Is A Three-Row EV Wondertruck For The Future https://www.theautopian.com/ram-1500-revolution/ https://i.postimg.cc/TpfDY7zw/C61-C1...4264-F1-F3.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/YvmGd5gd/4-ECBB...-C7522-F84.jpg Click on the link for more pictures and info. Interesting concept. :turtle: > . |
Interesting. My requirement for the next vehicle is 6+ seating.
The problem with many 3rd row vehicles is that you can't put car seats in the back row, meaning they have to be in the middle. Then, you can't access the back row because you can't fold the seatbacks forward to access them. I'm not taking car seats in and out every time the other seats are occupied. I just like bench seating in trucks. Don't know why that went away. There's no reason for a shifter in the middle in an automatic, meaning there's no reason to have a console either. |

Bench seats aren't as comfy during high G Manuevers the newest participants attempt in their suv/truck.

I've done fine on bench seats pushing the cornering limits. Make them buckets if you must, but 3 across belongs up front. |
Didn't catch the implied sarcasm, then?
And no you aren't the only person attempting high lateral forces while turning. You should follow me screwing with low performace drivers in porsches on circular off ramps in the F250 @ 4 ton. I get suprising side force, loud tire noises and sometimes brake fade but so far no vehicle damage. |
Missed that.
Drives me nuts when people have high performance cars and are only comfortable going fast when it's straight. Big deal, a Prius will do 105 on the straight. My perception is that big lifted truck drivers are the ones doing 90 on the interstate, geting 10 MPG, meanwhile they take a 45 MPH posted corner (which can be taken at 55 wet, pulling a trailer) at 35 MPH. |
Long time ago i was really into big wide tires. Got over that quickly driving on wet or snowy roads. The pinto with M50x15 rears just skittered around so bad it stopped being fun even at stoplights whereas the stock superbug was unstoppable until the snow went deeper than 8-12"

I put belted bias F60-15s on my 1957 when they first came out. On gravel you could turn or brake, but turning and braking did neither.
With 145s on 5.5" rims, my Type III could lure lifted trucks into right-angle turns. The 165/60-15s on the Superbeetle provoke terminal oversteer like a Porsche. |

I watched this whole thing from Munro Live to find out where the third row seating is hiding and they mention it but don't show how it works. :(
Really Revolutionary or a Stellantis Fantasy? Ram EV Concept at CES 2023 OTOH, it has a doghouse frunk, like the Bollinger. They don't see the appeal to dog [or maybe cat?} owners. |
RAM
I suspect that Ford and GM product committees experienced a #10 pucker when they first glimpsed the Revolution.
A master stroke for Stellantis to be late to the party. They've knocked it out of the park! |
I've been seeing Stellantis mentioned many places recently, which is odd because I've never heard of them until very recently.
|
2021 is very recently, it just doesn't seem that way anynore.

It's also impressive how Stellantis is being more efficient at managing the overlap between so many brands on most markets.

Well I put a $100 reservation on a Rev. Figure the Lightning I put a reservation on has price crept from $41k to now $58k with zero improvements since I put the $100 down on that. I will wait and see what the Rev ends up with and at least I got in on the 2nd day of opening reservations.
I like the simplification from the concept. Simple means affordable more often than not. Plus it's not like the regular Ram is bad looking. Edit: Also the super bowl ad was the best of the year. Marketing over at Chrysler or whatever it has been renamed over the years, is always the best. Remember "Made in Detroit" super bowl ad? That was for a crappy Chrysler 200 pre redesign, but was maybe the best supebowl ad of all time. |
3rd-row seating
In an inside view of the cabin, it looked like a track system on the floor could accept any number of seating configurations. 'Plug-and-play.' sorta.
