And that mound of snow is just waiting for you to start drafting ...

Then it should be more gradual. What are the odds it was parked under canopy overnight with the tail sticking out?

Sloped at any angle that would direct most of the falling snow on the sloped canopy to slide towards the perpendicular roof of the partially parked underneath trailer I suspect.

Low frontal area for a bus, maybe people were smaller back then and more welcomed to cozy up?

If you fubar the flow with all the wings and fins, then yes it's a wee bit off as the Scottish say. Wonder how effective it is sitting in this disturbed flow. More importantly, did it make the vehicle faster? Math says it is slower in the corners just because it has to weigh more

Inexcusable high center of gravity solution and what I would suspect is a horrid wing profile is what stood out to me to be rather lacking in the whole "I want to be different" experiment.

With downforce from the wings, cars can brake and corner harder. It is curious that they never just use side force instead of upsetting the suspension radically, but maybe the driver is too busy.
The thick trailing edge may be an attempt to sabotage the airflow of any competitor getting within passing distance.
