I thought I would just start a thread where I could put random pics from my commute.

Saw this on my commute today.

Polar opposite of ... the pedals.

The local college(Texas longhorns) colors are orange and white. That would be my guess for the pedal choice.:)

It's hard to tell from the picture but the metro has some green astro turff all over. Did not get a chance to tell him he was killing his FE.:) Keep Austin weird.

And.. is it a Forsa/Metro/Swift or a Subaru? They look pretty similar.

No that's the first time I've seen him. I think it is a metro but it was hard to tell since it was pretty far away. Note that the window is down and it was 97 degrees today. I guess he was trying to save some gas after all. Probably cheaper then a paint job.:)

This is interesting. This guy his older brother and dad all have unicycles. Top speed 10 mph. He needs a commuter bag instead of carrying his stuff:)

In other news. I pass by this guy twice a day. It was 95 and extremely humid today. I had to stop and get one to chow down on the spot.

No those are real birds. That area is grackle alley. It's almost a a remake of the birds if you hit it just right.:)

A petro tanker spilled fuel down the road. it's hard to tell but they had about 4 city blocks shut down while the hazmat crew cleaned up the road. Fortunately for me they let me go through the road block. Probably saved about 2 miles on the commute.:)

O man, if only I had a way to upload some pictures off my phone to the computer...I'm going to try to email myself a few of my weird commute pictures now.

2. Yea, you almost got hit there with that one car, what an idiot!

I should try mounting my cam on my bike one day for my commute. At first I thought you were on a motocycle, then I saw you riding along the side of the traffic (which made me laugh pretty hard) and realized it was a bicycle.

Yea, it would help if I had proper signal to send pictures and get internet consistently though. For some reason I can only ever send pictures if I'm at my friends house which is about 40 minutes north of where I live.

Cool. I like the music. Lyrics are appropriately timed where "you're leaving everybody behind". :)

It's not as bad as it looks. They could easily put a bike lane there or wide shoulder.

She was talking on her cell phone I guess that why she could not turn the blinker on either.

What I find interesting is the amount of trucks and SUV in the short 3 minutes.

Commute II
 

Here's a video of the commute when I have to go in early. Starts in the dark and ends in the light. Not much to see because there is not much traffic:)

Ran into this guy today. He bought the rig for $75. It's running a 450w motor on a 24 volt system. He was just using the trailer to see if it would work before he spent $100 on the small 12v batteries. He looked quite surprised when I turned around. He looked as if he thought I wanted to rumble. :) I was lucky, it was his maiden voyage which was a success.:thumbup:

I still can't get my phone to upload the pictures, I have like 5 good ones now that I want to put up.

Yes I can see really well I have lights all over. I was surprised that the video makes it look so stealth. I think it's because the camera points a pretty good way out.

I finally found a place in the area that had the right signal for me to offload some pictures for the forum, so here goes some of mine.

Ok, the first one is a truck that was in front of me at a light near my apartment, I just thought it was funny looking, that tube was the entire length of the trailer.

You may have seen one of these in your town, but it's a US postal box that is shaped like R2D2. I found it on my way downtown one day.
