rant -why is my wiring soooo hard work?

<rant> my injector wiring is all wraped up in big plastic shielding and i cant get to it! i just spent 2 hours in the cold trying to get to the injectors. i even have a wiring diagram now so i was really keen to do it. it is underneath sooo many other things. fuel lines, sensors, throtle housing. i have to take all that off! the ECU end is just as bad, worse even.

its gonna be a whole weekends work! <rant/>

Welcome to fuel injection, :D

Welcome to "No user serviceable parts inside." and security screws with "we know the screw's position" marks.

You just gotta have a little "stick-to-it-ive-ness" to really get something done anymore.

just wait until it's warmer; it will be so much easier and the wires/insulation will be more pliable.

If you have a garage, take a mid-distance trip (20 miles or so) and then park it in the garage... after about 30-40 mins, you should be able to work on it, and everything will be heated/much easier to work with.

I must stress that you don't remove anything which requires a gasket until the engine is cold, though. Warpage could occur.

thanks for the moral support :)
