This was done keeping speed below 45 mph and no freeway. This will suit her normal driving just fine and is what I was hoping for.

They have a customer that has not even had the engine come on yet (over a year now) and is using his Prius as an EV only car. They do highly advise against it though mainly due to the crappy fuel today hurting the fuel system. So, what we are going to do is run a few tanks of premium fuel through it and every other month take it on the freeway to burn the fuel up.
Now that would be an interesting vehicle to mod with your pre chambered lean burn!?

With how cheap batteries have become, it's almost cheaper to build a hybrid.
This^^^^.

I think every car built today should be at a minimum, a mild hybrid.

48V, maybe even higher. Put the motor/generator where the harmonic balancer is. Get rid of any belts on front of engine. Run water pump, AC electrically.

Seems like this would be as cheap to build as an engine with separate alternator and starter.

The DB with your meter etc is downstairs right?
Around here, a live, neutral and properly earthed earth wire/s and outdoor plug would be the permanent solution.

I suppose the rules and regulations requiring an electrical engineer from NASA to do all the work personally at a million $ per minute is the issue?
