Re jigged engine pan
1 Attachment(s)
Hi have moved my engine under tray so that it is at bottom of airdam. Also closed up radiator grill so all the air goes through radiator and not around it. Added a small grill block at same time. Got no actual figures but seat of the pants and fact i need less throttle to hold cruising speed indicates its a benefit. Next job is to fit rear pan under spare wheel well to reduce bumper/parachute effect. Between the front and rear wheels the floor pan is flat. So not going to bother with that. Coasting distance is up and going down slopes requires little or no throttle. When i do my next trip to inverness 250-260 mile round trip over scottish mountains will give me a better idea of how much improvement. Obviously weather dependent if snowing or icy will drive to road conditions and put eco driving on back seat. Safety will always come first every time.

How did you move the oil pan? Up or down to align with the air dam?
|
Sorry it was suppose to engine under tray not oil pan. I moved engine under tray to bottom of air and it also goes under part of oil sump.

Hi cannot edit title of post to engine undertray.

I wouldn't worry about it, I'd say on this site a lot of us already knew what you meant by "engine pan"
http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...tml#post466265 That belly pan is still on the car and functional three years later, btw. Every time my son brings Turtle over to do an oil change I'm always shocked how clean the engine bay is |
Do you have any under car shots ..... please & what did you use , in terms of sheet material ? Regards Bob
