recent WVO conversion, starting becoming more difficult. any ideas whats wrong?
 

since changing to WVO my van is getting harder to start each morning, does anyone have any ideas what might cause this?

i have a 2 tank system, starting and stopping on diesel. one thought is that i havent added a lift pump yet, which shouldnt effect the diesel tank at all - unless it means that i have damaged the main pump by overworking it. aside from that nothing has changed that i can see having any effect on the van, unless the injectors are becoming clogged!?

before converting it would always start 1st key turn.

Try running on diesel longer before stopping. Maybe you're just not giving it enough of a chance to flush the WVO out before you shut down. The weather is also cooling down- maybe warming the WVO would help it get flushed more easily.

I'd look at the clogging angle. You might need to use some additive, and possibly switch back to regular diesel a half-minute or so before you turn off the engine on each trip.

yup, seems to be starting fine if i run it on diesel for longer and now i've fitted a lift pump. Thanks guys
