Remembering the Electric Booger 10 Years Later
Remember when EV conversions was a thing? I guess that hobby mostly died when older mass produced EVs started to become available...
I decided to make a video to reminisce about the old Electric Booger that I built and documented on Ecomodder here: https://ecomodder.com/forum/showthre...zda-22478.html I would love to do another EV conversion one day... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_Pbms33CzQ&t=1230s |
Thanks, I learned some things.
I was going to point out the Root Mean Square of 120VAC, but I looked and 120 is the EMS. Peak is 170V. I'd gotten a Lexus axle, single motor and open diff, to put into an old Beetle. Then I had an oopsie on black ice. So now my prefered choice would be a complete drivetrain and suspension from an Arcimoto FUV. More power, twin motor and differential in software. MSRP is $18K, so half that that should get the subframe. I know some people there that know the programmers. |
Conversions are still a thing except propulsion and energy storage has changed. Perhaps a hundred stii in work over on DIYELECTRICCARS.COM

OEMs recognize the utility of retrofitting existing vehicles.
