Those cruze grill shutters were what originally gave me the idea for my grill shutters.
Only problem is they are not nearly big enough and they look like I would have to stack 2 or 3 of them and they look to be too thick.
What that picture doesn't show is that I added engine oil and transmission coolers over my grill shutters and got it all to fit under the OEM style grill cover all since I took this pic.
Link to pics of all the stuff I crammed between the radiator and outer plastic trim:

Here is my shutter stat.
Will use it to control the grill shutters. It has "170" stamped on the side, not sure if that means it opens or closes at 170, guess I could throw it in a pot of water with a thermometer and find out.
Its purely thermal mechanical, works like a car thermostat.

Hi,
Loving the thread so far, are you aware that what you are designing here is basically what Porsche added onto the 928 S4 in 1987?
It is described on a 928 history website as:-
"A revised cooling system featured thermostatically operated radiator shutters that opened only when needed to minimize drag in high-speed driving."
You can pick up a grill with motor etc on ebay for $50, adapt it to suit your needs and you will have something that looks OEM and works with German efficiency

Just did a quick search on ebay for "928 grille" and this is the part I am talking about, ebay item number: 390614365310.
I should point out that I have no link to the seller, its just an easy way for me to show the part I'm talking about. Unfortunately I'm too new to the forum to give links and pictures. I hope this is helpful for you guys?
I'm planning on mounting one of these on my car soon.
