The options...endless although it's pretty much plastic wrap. |
Looks like standard shipping wrap. The stuff that holds stuff together on pallets

It's not shrink wrap like for wrapping pallets, it has adhesive on one side - it's the stuff gaffers and convention/rigging teamsters use on carpet when they have to drive a vehicle or forklift indoors to protect the carpet from its wheels.

Ahh gotcha.. Now I know what you are talking about

My grille block's stuff was better. About 3 times as thick, and lasted forever till I got bored with it.
It was the clear thick plastic stuff used to insulate windows. no, not the opaque stuff, this was crystal clear. |

Well I got it for free from my shop class when we were using it to make small black boxes with that heat up to about 160 degrees just from the sunlight.
It came in a roll, and It looked like this. Much much thicker than Suran wrap. You can punch your finger at it and not worry about pokin holes. http://dailyhomerenotips.com/wp-cont...ating-film.jpg |
I was just thinkng.... this stuff might be GREAT for those of us with roof racks that 1. we actually use fairly often and 2. are difficult to remove (taking off my cross bars necessitates removing the entire rack)
If this stuff sticks well enough, it could be stretched from the windshield to the rear hatch, over the top of the cross bars.... encapsulating them and possibly reducing/eliminating their drag. Time for some testing ;) |
