Rolls Royce Phantom

Anyone drive a Rolls Royce Phantom V-12? I would be curious as to the gas mileage on that.

I would think anyone who could afford that beast isn't too interested in ecomodding it, or concerned about fuel economy. You never know, though.

A 419ci V12 and it only makes ~450hp? That's actually kind of bad these days. :p

And a power-hide emblem? LOL

You know, some of us don't do it for the money. Though I'm not in Rolls-Royce territory, I could well afford to buy & run an average gas-guzzling SUV, if money was all that mattered.

Given that the Phantom probably costs on the order of a magnitude more than the average SUV, I'd say you are in quite a different league from someone who would purchase one. Not that I wouldn't like to be in your financial position. :p

And given the design of the car, if the transmission were properly tuned, I would say it would get slightly better FE than a standard SUV anyway, given it's intended driver (that being a chauffeur with a very careful foot to give a smooth ride to the passengers).

RR engines have always been tuned for silence and lots of low end torque before high horsepower.

Effortless progress was the aim.

Pete.

Which is not too bad... I was expecting perhaps 20-22 highway, though.

We're talking about the RR engines in jets, right?
