RTD Explorer Firmware ?
Well, got my cougar comunicating with the RTD Explorer but have a couple of questions. When I am connected to my laptop with Explorer running I have a message that reads: "?Cougar OS controller firmware v. 1.11b" It is as if it is asking if this is the firmware I am running and it is but just looks funny. Also I am not seeing any readings on the right hand screen. Everything is still zeros but I do get my info on the lower black screen. Is there something I need to turn on to be able to get this function to work and last of all for now anyway, do I need to load the crc hex file also. If so, is there anything tricky about doing this? All your help and advice is appreciated. I am almost there!

Bill,
Cougar firmware 1.11b is the latest so you shouldn't need to load the hex file. RTD should automatically configure the Cougar to stream data so nothing is required on your part. Adam has an excellent video tutorial on RTD Explorer here- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoByaba2ipY Maybe watching this will provide some insight. -Chris |
Bill, do you have the thermistor and throttle pot attached to your controller board? Not sure, but if these aren't attached then raw throttle count and heatsink temp may come up as zero. On a static system (throttle not depressed) these are the only non-zero values....at least on my setup.

RTD Firmware ?
Got 5K pot and the thermistor connected to my controller board static setup. All is working fine, I am recieving real time data and looks like all is well.. I will continue on with my build. I am satisfied that everything is good! I appreciate all of the help. Will probably be back for more. Thanks Again!
