Saying hello, will eventually seek help with MPGuino

Hello. I have a 1988 Honda Prelude. I just recently attempted installing an MPGuino. I don't have much experience with electrical work so this is a fun project.

I connected the 12v to the fuse box on the drivers side, the ground to some steel, the inj to the brown wire #1 in Connector A, and the vss wire to the yellow/blue wire #10 in Connector B.

I am getting an inj signal but not a vss signal. Could anyone give me a tip or two here before I move on to a more specific subforum?

Welcome to the site Nordic. What kind of mileage are you currently getting in the Prelude?

As for the vss, it only has two wires. If its not the one you tapped into, it has to be the other one.

Good luck!

I currently get about 28 city, 33 highway. I have gotten it as high as 36 highway before. This is a lot better than the car is rated for.

The ECU only has one VSS output. I am looking for another way to get the VSS signal.

Edit: I have confirmed pin B10 on the ECU is not giving me the VSS signal I need. Further research said my model of prelude has a mechanical VSS. Not sure if that effects what I am doing here. Something online said pin B16 would also work for VSS, although the schematics says that is the crankshaft sensor ground. I tried it. I got a reading of something but it was not speed.

I am trying to find the VSS sensor on the engine so I could hook it up direct.
