Scangauge fuel cutoff settings

Sorry to make an entire new thread for a simple question, I tried to send a PM to someone who has the same car as me, but I need 10 posts to send PMs!

I have a 1998 Protege DX 1.5l, and I have a question regarding fuel cutoff and the Scangauge II.

If I set the scangauge cutoff to 10, my foot off gas TPS being 9, the scangauge indicates that my car is in fuel cutoff when in first gear, clutch out, at 750 RPM (Engine idle carrying the car along at a very slow speed.
Basically, any time I have my foot off the gas, and the car is moving, it thinks the car is in total fuel cutoff even when I know it is not.

Also, does anyone know for a fact that the Protege (manual) DOES have a fuel cutoff when coasting down? I just want my gauge to be the most accurate.

Thanks a bunch.

I can't comment as to your specific car model, but it says in the SGII manual to set the cutoff value 4 points higher than your TPS value. So in your instance, you may want to try a cutoff of 13.

I'm brand new to the Scangauge, so maybe someone smarter than me will chime in.

I've been getting 9999 MPG during light throttle and I have my fuel cutoff set to the default 24. My TPS reads 0 when off throttle so I'm not sure why, I just e-mailed Linear-Logic about it and will let you know what they say if setting it to the suggested settings didn't work for you. I guess I'll try setting mine to 4.
